A Hire Agreement is a simple way to spread the cost of business equipment over an agreed period, helping you invest without paying the full amount upfront.
Whether you've just signed your agreement or have had one with us for several years, understanding how it works can help you manage it with confidence.
What's included in your Hire Agreement?
Your Hire Agreement contains the key information about your lease, including:
- the equipment you're leasing
- the supplier who provided it
- the length of your agreement
- your payment schedule
- any additional services included
- your responsibilities while using the equipment
- what happens when your agreement comes to an end
Before signing, it's important to read your agreement carefully and make sure you're happy with everything it contains.
When does my agreement start?
Your agreement begins once your equipment has been delivered and you've signed the Delivery Certificate.
This confirms you've received the equipment, checked that it's working correctly and are happy for us to pay your supplier.
Your rent payments will then begin in line with your agreed payment schedule.
Your responsibilities
Throughout your agreement you're responsible for looking after the equipment.
This means keeping it in good condition, using it appropriately and making sure it remains insured or covered by Equipment Protection where applicable.
If the equipment develops a fault, your supplier should normally be your first point of contact.
Keeping track of your agreement
The easiest way to manage your agreement is through the Customer Portal.
Here you can:
- view your agreement
- download documents
- access invoices
- keep your contact details up to date
Good to know
