What was your first ever job?

My first job was when I was 7 or 8. I did a lot of performing arts as a kid and I was in the 1999 film version of “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dream Coat.”

What do you do at GRENKE?

I work as the Sales Operations Specialist for the UK. I support our colleagues with day to day technical support with our systems. In addition to this I work on larger projects related to the data on our systems and streamlining internal processes.

What do you love most about your job and why?

I love being able to support our colleagues by simplifying processes and being able to offer clarity to the sea of information/ programs on our systems. Saving others time on potentially tedious tasks so they can redirect this time and energy on other important things.

What piece of advice do you give someone when their tech goes wrong?
  1.  Turn it off and on again
  2.  Google it
  3.  In all seriousness I would refer them to our in house ChatBot. I was due to go on a 2 week holiday and I wanted to make sure our team still had some form of local technical support when I was away. As a result I created the Chatbot. It holds answers to many of the day to day questions that I receive in addition to training/resources on our intranet.
Describe your business values?

I follow the Kaizen culture. With the ever-changing needs of any business I feel it’s important to keep myself up to date with what’s going on and to always strive for continual improvement. In addition to this I try to follow Dale Carnegie’s “Don’t Criticize, Condemn or Complain.”

If you were a brand, what would your motto be??

Why settle for “out of the box thinking”

What one piece of music would you keep on repeat and why?

I love a good old classic thanks to my Dad. It would have to Ray Charles “Mess Around.” I love the music of the 50s and 60s. They don’t make them like they used to!

If you were stranded on a desert island, what three items would you take with you and why?
  1. Is it cheating if I say my iPhone? The new iPhones can connect with satellites now so I would probably be rescued quite quickly
  2. Solar battery bank to keep my phone charged until I get rescued
  3. Swiss army knife so I can make things. I know how to make fire from scratch and how to make shelter. Learnt when I was younger from my family, DofE and a bit from watching Bear Grylls!
